‘Kill Bill’ helped women in their lives: Uma Thurman

Los Angeles, Jul 03: Actress Uma Thurman, who is best known for her action role in Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” film series, said the movie has had a positive impact on women.
The 47-year-old actress played Beatrix Kiddo, a.k.a The Bride, who seeks out revenge for the murder of her friends and her fiance, in the movie.
Thurman said women come up to her all the time and tell her how the movie helped them in their lives, reported Variety.
“Women would come up to me and they would say that somehow or other - they’d share a little bit - that that film helped them in their lives, whether they were feeling oppressed or struggling or had a bad boyfriend or felt badly about themselves,” she said.
“... that that film released in them some survival energy that was helpful, and that is probably one of the most gratifying things that I have ever experienced in response to a piece of art,” she added.
Talking about the reaction of her father, an ordained as a Buddhist monk, to the violent role she played in, Thurman said that being the father of an actress was probably a challenge, and a strange one at that.
Asked to name which of her films, her three children liked best, Thurman was interrupted by her son, Roan Thurman-Hawke, sitting in the balcony of the theater, who shouted “Pulp Fiction.” PTI
