137 ILP violators detected

AALO, May 30: Continuing its drive to deport immigrants without valid ILP (Inner Line Permit), the Aalo Police on Wednesday detained 137 persons from the district headquarters here.

The defaulters were picked up by the administration and police from various sectors and work sites of the township.

The guilty were found violating the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act, 1873 (BEFR).

Out of the 137 persons indentified, 98 without ILP were detained and produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate while 39 people were released on production of ILP by the caretaker.

The entire exercise was carried out under the supervision of a team of Magistrates led by EAC Judicial Liyi Bagra, Henkir Lollen, Lijum Ete and Jumkar Karbi and with the help of a police team led by Aalo police station officer-in-charge, Inspector Minli Geyi. DIPRO
