9 houses gutted in Nerba Colony fire

ITANAGAR, Aug 07: At least 9 houses along with two motorcycles were reduced to ashes in a devastating fire that broke out at the Nerba Colony here on the wee hours of Monday.
Reportedly all the household belongings of six families (mostly tenants) were gutted down by the inferno.
However, no serious casualty has been reported. 
On receipt of information, the firefighters reached at the spot and doused the fire before it could spread to the adjacent dwellings.
Itanagar Municipal Council councilor, Yumlam Minu, who visited the site to take stock of the situation, has appealed to the state government and district administration to release an immediate relief and rehabilitation package for the victims.
This is the second incident of fire accident in the state within a span of a week.
In all 37 houses along with one community dere (prayer hall), three granaries and 19 rice mills were reduced to ashes in a devastating fire that broke out at Tadin village in West Siang district on August 01 last.
