APIC imposes penalty

ITANAGAR, May 30: The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) has imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000 on one Kirba Sora, EE, PHE and Water Supply, Aalo division, for refusing to furnish information under section 20 (1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 to an appellant.

The information pertaining to implementation and renovation of water supply at Gemoyijo of Gemo Tali village was sought by one Marto Tali.

The Commission further directed Sora to appear before the Commission on June 15 next along with the complete information sought and stated that in case of failure to comply with its order, the Commission would invoke Section 20 (2) if the RTI Act and recommend disciplinary action against the EE as per service rule.
