Health Minister Jomde Kena no more

ITANAGAR, Sep 04: Health and Family Welfare Minister Jomde Kena passed away after a brief illness at a private hospital in Guwahati, Assam on Monday evening.
52-year old Kena, a resident of Gensi village in Lower Siang district was undergoing treatment at Guwahati for the past one month. As his condition had not improved he was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) three days ago.
Kena represented the 28 Likabali Assembly constituency since 2014. Earlier, he also held the post of deputy speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
Meanwhile, chief minister Pema Khandu has expressed shock and grief over the sad demise of his cabinet colleague Kena.
Khandu, who is in the national capital for an official meeting, conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and the people, especially those of his assembly constituency whom he represented in the Legislative Assembly.
In his condolence message, Khandu said, “Words cannot describe the pain you go through when you lose a dear friend, a colleague and a guide who was always around to support, advise and show the way ahead despite hard times. The sudden demise of Jomde Kena, who as a member of Team Arunachal had just started to bring reforms in the health department, is a bolt from nowhere.”
“In his demise, our state has lost a seasoned
 politician and I have lost an elder brother, who was more than a friend,” Khandu said.
“On behalf of the people, I convey my deep condolences to the members of his family, friends and well wishers. I pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace,” the message added.  
The mortal remains of late Kena will be flown to Naharlagun on Tuesday and then will be taken to his native village.
