ITANAGAR, Aug 09: Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) state president Jikke Tako joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Wednesday.
“The Congress party leadership is direction less in terms of working for the development of state. They have done very little in the past three years for members of its frontal organisations. There is no transparency in the party and most importantly, I have lost the confidence in all their leaders,” Tako said.
“I joined hands with the BJP as it believes in the mantra of ‘Saab Ka Saath Vikas’. There is transparency and accountability in the party. I have full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Centre and chief minister Pema Khandu in state that they will lead the youths as well as the state in the right direction,” he added.
Tako further added that more youths from the Congress would join the saffron party soon.
BJP state president Tapir Gao, who along with his vice president, Dominic Tadar and general secretary, Jarpum Gamlin welcomed the youth leader in the party, stated that Arunachal soon will be a Congress-mukth state.
Legislators Phurpa Tshering, Tesam Pongte and Jambey Tashi and the office bearers of the BJP were also present in the function.
