AAPSU submits memo

TAP | Updated: March 7, 2017

ITANAGAR, Mar 07: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) in a representation submitted to the Higher and Technical Education director on Tuesday appealed the latter to immediately recruit an assistant professor in the department of Anthropology at Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) here.

Stating that, though an announcement to introduce Anthropology in the undergraduate level at DNGC was made by the Education Secretary on April 21, 2015 and intimations were also sent to all departments concerned in this regard, AAPSU lamented that no advertisement has been floated to recruit lecturers/assistant professors till date.

Also asserting that so far 42 APST students have qualified the NET/SLET examination in Anthropology conducted by UGC and seven students have already been awarded PhD in the subject from Rajiv Gandhi University, hence validating the resourcefulness, the union further claimed that there no iota of doubt that anthropology is one of the most appropriate disciplines to be taught in the state of Arunachal Pradesh and hence the department has to be given utmost importance.

Further condemning the state finance department for allegedly regretting the post creation file, AAPSU has threatened to launch a vigorous democratic movement if its demand (advertisement for the post) is not fulfilled within 15 days.
