CM assures development of Mebo

PASIGHAT, Nov 03: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday inaugurated the much-awaited Circle office building at Namsing under Mebo Subdivision in East Siang district.
Advisor to the CM and local MLA Lombo Tayeng, DC Tamiyo Tatak, SP Pranav Tayal, former MLAs Roding Pertin and Ralom Borang, and state BJP President Tapir Gao were present on the occasion.
The CM also laid the foundation of Don Bosco School, Mebo, released a book authored by Father Francis and participated in a plantation programme.
Addressing a public meeting later, Khandu appreciated the villagers for maintaining peace and harmony and sought preservation of age-old traditions and culture. He gave spot sanction of Rs 5-crore for developmental activities and, responding to memorandums submitted by Mongu Bango, WASE, Namsing village and New District Demand Action Committee, assured appropriate actions.
The CM further assured to send a team of experts to inspect the Tarotamak riverside to take immediate and suitable flood control measures. He categorically said the assembly will discuss for amendment of the district creation guidelines of 1983 considered too old to be practical.
“BJP will take the state to new heights of development as it puts the interest of the nation above self-interest,” Khandu said,
 urging government officials and leaders to conduct awareness campaign on central and state flagship programmes so that people are largely benefited.
“Many beneficial schemes have been launched by the central and state governments for all-round development and to minimise unemployment. About 5,000 jobs have been created and entrepreneurship promoted in the state within a year,” the CM asserted.
He thanked the elders, ex-ministers, and legislators of Mebo for their vision in infusing work culture in the area. He also thanked the government officials for maintaining the work culture in the district.
Earlier, Tayeng conveyed his gratitude to the CM for the love and care shown to the people of Namsing in particular and Mebo Subdivision as a whole. He said that in addition to SIDF, Rs 5-crore allocated by the CM has been judiciously utilised for restoration and maintenance of road communication in the area. 
Gao said the present government under Khandu’s leadership has performed well on the development front. “It is a corruption-free and people-friendly government,” he said.
