DC calls for coordination between Anganwadis, ASHAs

PANGIN, Mar 03: First ever district level monitoring committee (DLMC) meeting of ICDS, Siang district unit was on Thursday held at the DC’s conference hall here. 
Chairing the meet, DC Rahul Singh while acknowledging the importance of Anganwadis and ASHAs stressed on close coordination and cooperation between the two to bring about a positive and much needed change especially in the health and education sector. 
He urged the education department to collaborate with the Anganwadi workers to improve the education scenario of the district and further also called upon all the participants to join hands and work together towards achieving the desired objectives.
Through an informative power point presentation, CDPO Riga Lenjing Tagi gave an overview of the various schemes, goals, roles of the ICDS Department in the district and also the various challenges being faced by the department.
This was followed by an elaborate and detailed discussion on finding viable solutions to improve and revitalize the department for better implementation of schemes, strategies to improve working and coordination between ASHAs and Anganwadis and also between the various allied departments.
CDPOs, admin officers, representatives from medical, education, agriculture, horticulture and engineering departments were present in the meeting. DIPRO
