Hundreds bid tearful adieu to Tazap

DOIMUKH, Mar 20: Hundreds of people from all walks of life on Monday bade tearful adieu to former minister Ngurang Tazap at the funeral service which was held at his Amba residence here with full state honour.
Tazap had passed away in a city hospital at Guwahati on Saturday due to prolonged illness.
Cabinet minister Kumar Waii and Nabam Rebia, parliamentary secretary Pani Taram, former ministers Neelam Taram, Lichi Legi, former MLAs Ngurang Pinch and Bamang Mangha, former APPSC chairman Nabam Atum, IMC chief councillor Kipa Kaku, deputy chief councillor Tarh Nachung and various other political leaders, government officials and officers, senior citizens, panchayat leaders and public attended the funeral ceremony.
Nyishi Baptist church council leaders Kara Sako and Kara Tayo among others performed religious prayer before the body was laid to rest. 
Meanwhile, the All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) has deeply mourned the sad and untimely demise of the former minister.
“Late Tazap’s demise is great loss for the state. The ANSU prays the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul and 
also to bestow enough strength to bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss,” a statement from the union said. ANSU executive members led by its assistant general secretary Tukbom Ligu and convenor Dozi Tana Tara also attended the funeral service of late Tazap on Monday.
