ITANAGAR, Aug 28: The Arunachal Bullet Club (ABC) will host the ninth North East Riders’ Meet (NERM) in collaboration with Royal Siang Riders, 30 Degrees North and Gliding Piranhas in East Siang district on November 10-12 next.
The objective of NERM 2017 is to promote the culture, customs and traditions of the state and to explore the unexplored parts of East Siang, ABC chief Dingwang Wangham told newsmen at Arunachal Press Club here on Monday.
He said riders from Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka besides the north eastern states have registered online for the annual event of Royal Enfield riders. “No participant will be allowed to bring plastic bottles at the meet venue,” he added.
Kangkiram Tamut, chief of Royal Siang Riders (RSR) said Rengging village at Pasighat has been chosen as the venue for this year’s meet organised across the eight North East states to celebrate the brotherhood or Royal Enfield riders.
“We have strict rules and regulation
such as keeping teenagers out of the event and monitoring to check unlawful activities,” Tamut said, adding that river rafting and other adventurous events are among the attractions of NERM 2017.
The participants of the event will also undertake a programme to plant 1,000 saplings. Members of ABC, RSR and Gliding Piranhas have initiated the official process with the forest department for this purpose.
