AALO, Mar 06: The Joint Working Committee of Arunachal Pradesh Trade Unions (JWCAPTU) distributed relief items to the fire victims of Gour Hill here on Sunday last.
Led by JWCAPTU chairman Changma Tajo and general secretary Kenkar Yomcha the team which also included APPHEWU president Kipa Tukyang, AAPFDWU president Lindom Bagap, AAPEDWU secretary general Chera Tabi, AAPUSLU general secretary Kipa Tamey and APPMU president Gollo Yapung distributed blankets, buckets and other household items each to nine affected families.
Later on the day, Tajo while addressing a mass meeting attended by hundreds of casual, contingency and contract employees from various departments of Aalo and its adjoining circles called upon the workers community to be ready for rigorous agitation ahead.
While clarifying that the association’s fight is not against any political party or against present government, the chairman said, “Our agitation will continue till the time our demands are not addressed by the state government. Despite repeated persuasion, the government is not ready to address our demands so we are left with no option other than to resort to a state-wide democratic movement.”
General Secretary Kenkar Yomcha in his deliberation informed that the union’s fourth phase of agitation is scheduled for March 29 and 30 next during which a “Taal March cum Mass Rally” would be organised across state.
