YINGKIONG, Apr 07: Rural Development & IPR Minister Alo Libang visited Gette village on Thursday and inaugurated a Dere (Community Hall) constructed under MPLAAD.
Earlier, Libang also inspected the link road constructed under SPA having 4 kms span connecting PWD road to Moying Jhuming area at an estimated cost of 30 lakh, reports DIPRO.
Addressing the people, Libang appealed the youth of the area to stay at their own village and devote in agriculture and horticulture sectors to exploit the potentials of the area for self reliance.
He added that every one cannot get government job and contract works.
He directed the development departments to put up proper monitoring mechanism and ensure quality of works on various projects.
Talking about rural development schemes, the minister urged the PRI members to attend training whenever called for to get them acquainted with the basic rules of Gram Sabha as the village level development schemes needs to be decided and selected at Gram Sabha meeting.
Stating that all the BDOs would be imparted training from time to time as any error or delay in submission of schemes or UC may hampers flow of funds, Libang supported the points raised by ABK women Wing of Gette unit regarding imposing ban on hunting and fishing besides felling of trees in the village.
He appealed the people to stop hunting in order to protect rare animals like Siben and preserve flora & fauna of the area.
Responding to the single point memorandum submitted by ZPM Bading Teng, the minister assured a link road from Gette village to Herek area for horticulture and forest development.
DFO Anying Boli briefed on the Green India Mission and assured to take up Herek area under the scheme with necessary assistances of Rs 2 lakhs for the porter track, the report added.
