Quiz on election matters heldT

ITANAGAR, Dec 18: A state level quiz competition on election matters, conducted by the state’s election commission concluded with its finals being held at the Nirvachan Bhawan here on Monday.
Following the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the state’s election commission, under the chief electoral officer had recently conducted similar competitions all the across the state.
In all 16 schools from 16 districts of the state participated in grand finale which had senior journalist Pradeep Behera as the quizmaster.
After back to back cutthroat rounds, Team Tirap which comprised on Jinilam Suyang and Sonu Barman of Government Higher Secondary School, Deomali were crowned champions of the competition.
Tirap was followed by Team Changlang which had Rakesh Kumar and Rakhi Chetry from GHSS, Changlang in the second position while Athi Doka and Robert Beyong of JNV, Seppa who represented Team East Kameng took home the third prize.
Earlier, the day-long competition was inaugurated by Chief Electoral Officer Kaling Tayeng, who in his speech, advised all the participants to prepare themselves well for the national level quiz competition scheduled to be held at New Delhi soon.
