State gets Rs 351-cr for rural roads

ITANAGAR, Mar 16: Connectivity for Arunachal Pradesh, particularly for rural areas as envisioned by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, received a boost on Friday with the Union Ministry of Rural Development sanctioning Rs. 351.54-crore under PMGSY for the state. The fund released is the second installment of the annual allocation for the 2017-18 fiscal for Phase X Batch II for the 2013-14 fiscal (Rs 243.88-crore) and Phase X Batch III for the same fiscal (Rs. 107.66-crore)

Khandu extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that his concern for Arunachal Pradesh in terms of connectivity is evident from the positive gesture. “The state is surely rising under the PM’s leadership and with such continuous support Arunachal Pradesh shall transform itself at par with other developed states,” he said.

Khandu also thanked Union Minister for Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar for taking special care of the state. Khandu assured the Centre that the funds sanctioned will be judiciously utilised.
