Swachh Shakti Saptah celebrated

YINGKIONG, Mar 06: The Simong Gram Panchayat of Upper Siang district on March 03 last celebrated Swachh Shakti Saptah in a grand manner here.

Speaking during the celebration PHE and WS AE L K Srivastava while focusing on the importance of “Swachh Shakti Saptah” appealed all to make Swachhta a part of one’s daily life.

He also called for dedicating the entire week up to March 08 next which also happens to be International Women’s Day towards maintaining cleanliness and called upon all, particularly women to cooperate in cleanliness drives to make the entire district defecation free by October 2, 2019.

It was further informed by the AE that in order to highlight the role of women and recognize their leadership in Swachh Bharat Mission, various Gram Panchayat wise events are being proposed.

AEs G Burang and R Taying, JEs A K Dutta, B Perme and C G B Nair, WWS president Mekem Nopi, ASHA Workers, PRIs members also participated in the celebrations and addressed the gathering.
