Trading licenses in Sagalee inspected

SAGALEE, Feb 09: The Papum Pare district administration, led by Sagalee circle officer Hibu Akha and trade development officer Tai Arun conducted a comprehensive market inspection-cum-awareness programme at the market area here on Saturday.

As part of the initiative, all shops in Sagalee market underwent physical inspection to verify their trading licenses. Shopkeepers were provided with application forms, enabling the renewal of expired licenses.

Additionally, extensive awareness sessions were conducted, enlightening both shopkeepers and the general public about legal trade practices and pertinent laws, including the Arunachal Pradesh Excise Act, 1993, COTPA 2003, and trading license guidelines.

The inspection yielded the seizure of illegal liquor, tobacco products, petrol, and gambling items. These confiscated goods were disposed of at the office premises of the Toru circle office.

The inspection team comprised of tax and excise inspector Damnia Tamin, his trade and commerce counterpart Tabia Amko, members from the district tobacco control cell, Sagalee Market Welfare Committee, police personnel and other staff from the department of trade & commerce, ensured the successful execution of the programme.
