Two held for murder

ITANAGAR, Mar 12: Two persons namely Yura Taru (20) and Milo Bhai (21) were on Sunday arrested by Itanagar Police in connection to the death of one Habibur Rehman, a native of North Lakimpur Assam.

According to the police, Rehman, a carpenter by profession was returning home from work on the fateful evening of Saturday when the miscreants attacked him using sharp knives and stabbed him in his chest causing grievous injuries. The duo also snatched away Rehman’s phone in this process and fled away from the spot.

The victim, who was admitted to R K Mission Hospital, later succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, on getting input from reliable sources, a raid was carried out at P Sector on Sunday during which the two accused were arrested.

The weapon with his the crime was committed and the mobile phone of the deceased have been recovered from the duo, informed OC T Bage who further stated that that incident took place behind Aakashdeep Complex in Ganga at around at 8:30 pm on Saturday.

A case vide PS C/No. 54/17 U/S 397/302/34 IPC, has been registered and the body of the deceased has been handed over to his father after post mortem.

Both the accused are on police remand for 5 days.
