ITANAGAR, Jul 04: The state government on Wednesday launched the ambitious Deen Dayal Upadhay Sawabalamban Yojana (DDUSY) for creating self-employment avenues for the educated unemployed youth in the state.
The scheme conceptualised by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and approved by the state Cabinet, is aimed at exploring self-employment opportunities through bank finance.
Loan amount ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore would be provided by the bank and government would provide back-ended capital subsidy to the tune of 30 per cent, which would be disbursed to the banks through NABARD.
The scheme is expected to financially boost the state’s small and nano entrepreneurs in sectors such as agriculture, horticulture, dairy development, fishery, textile and handicrafts and eco-tourism.
“As government job sector is already saturated, we need to explore self-employment avenues to help the educated unemployed youths to become self-empowered. The scheme will provide the impetus in this direction,” Khandu said while launching the scheme here.
The chief minister appealed to the youths to be honest and sincere in their endeavour and asserted that the government was committed for their development and the scheme is a step in that direction.
Khandu said the scheme would be implemented across the state through the deputy commissioners and the government would increase the subsidy amount and incorporate other sectors under it in due course.
Appreciating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching various flagship programmes in the country, Khandu said, “After 70 years, the nation gets a dedicated prime minister whose vision is to develop all parts of the country equally.”

Entrepreneurs would be introduced to Facebook shop which would help them sell their products on a platform with more than 18 crore users in India.
“Our government is committed to holistic development of the state and programme like Boost Your Business and DDUSY will encourage entrepreneurship and employability so that the people of the state becomes the new engine of India’s growth,” Khandu added.
