Baahubali 2 will have a historic run at the box office, says Karan Johar

Mumbai, Mar 17: Filmmaker Karan Johar said that Baahubali: The Conclusion will see a historic run at the box office. Karan’s Dharma Productions owns the distribution rights of the Hindi version of the S S Rajamouli-directed film.   “When I introduced the film, we can proudly say that the most awaited film of the year is not made in Hindi. It’s a masterpiece. It is a pan-Indian film and the credit goes to Rajamouli. The film is heading for a historic run at the box office,” Karan, who was present at the trailer launch of the film in Mumbai last evening, said.  
Baahubali: The Beginning released in 2015 and made over Rs 600 crore at the box office. 
The Baahubali series, in fact, has inspired several young directors, Karan said.    
“One can conceptualise a film like Baahubali (in Hindi cinema) but no one has done it so far. Baahubali has given opportunities to Hindi cinema. There are many young filmmakers from my company who are inspired by it. I hope it translates into more films like this,” Karan Johar said.
Baahubali: The Conclusion, which stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty and Satyaraj, will release on April 28. PTI
