ITANAGAR, Nov 07: The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Itanagar, in association with the directorate of youth affairs, organized the district-level Yuva Utsav at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Ganga, under the theme "Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal."
The event aimed to inspire active youth participation in the nation’s development initiatives.
The Declamation Contest saw Kensim Kato Lobom from VKV Chimpu claim the first position, with Daphe Gangsa and Indu Das from GHSS Ganga securing second and third places, respectively.
Other competitions included the young writer's contest, young artist's contest, mobile photography, science mela (individual and group categories), and cultural dance.
The event was attended by Taw Jacob Tara, representative of MLA and vice-president of BJP Itanagar; Jini Natung, FAO of the department of youth affairs and sports and Sosa Lowang, Principal of GHSS Ganga.
In his address, Jacob emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and climate change action, urging participants to explore innovation in science and technology.
Natung highlighted various initiatives by the Department of Youth Affairs, inviting the youth to actively participate in these programs. K Alisha, SWM-DTCC, spoke on the significance of awareness regarding the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) 2003.
The event saw the participation of around 120 students from 14 schools and an audience of approximately 830. Winners from each category will move on to represent the district at the state and national levels.
