DC stresses civic order

KHONSA, Sep 16: Tirap deputy commissioner Ira Singhal underscored the necessity of upholding civic order and promptly addressing unauthorized activities during an inspection of illegal road cutting and unapproved water tapping in Khonsa market.

Following the inspection, Singhal highlighted the need for public and official cooperation to effectively implement these measures and enhance the overall environment of Khonsa Bazar.

The inspection team, which included DC Ira Singhal, PWD executive engineer Taro Jeram, PHE & WS executive engineer Bharat Sonam, Town Magistrate Laxmi Dodum, Khonsa Bazaar Welfare Committee president and secretary Jangan Wangsu and Sijen Pangkhu, identified several key areas for improvement.

These include the construction of CC steps, installation of meta covers for drains, inspection and cleaning of drains in the market area, removal of unauthorized water pipe tapping, clearing of construction materials along roadsides, eviction of encroachments over drains, and a general market facelift.

The team also resolved to file an FIR against those responsible for unauthorized road cutting for private pipe laying.
