ITANAGAR, Sep 30: Dibang Valley, the largest district of Arunachal, is set to benefit from the Centre's Vibrant Village Programme (VVP), aimed at fostering rapid development in bordering villages.
A total of 25 villages in the district have been selected for this ambitious initiative, which targets villages close to the Sino-India border.
The Centre has identified 662 villages across the Line of Actual Control (LAC), with VVP being implemented in 455 of them in Arunachal Pradesh.
An allocation of ₹4,800 crores has been made for the project, covering the fiscal period from 2022-23 to 2025-26.
Dibang Valley district planning officer Zeela Meto informed that work on roads, eco-resorts, and community halls under the VVP is progressing rapidly and is expected to be completed soon.
