ITANAGAR, Nov 07: A two-day awareness workshop on emerging technologies and artificial intelligence was organized by the department of information technology and communication at the State Banquet Hall here on November 5 and 6.
Held in collaboration with the National eGovernance Division (NeGD) of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), under its Capacity Building Scheme, the workshop aimed to raise awareness and equip government officers with skills to identify high-impact technological opportunities and formulate adaptive policies and strategies to enhance service delivery.
Inaugurating the event, chief secretary Manish Gupta shared insights on the use of artificial intelligence in governance and administration, discussing its advantages and challenges. He emphasized the state’s commitment to digital transformation to enable more responsive and effective policymaking.
Over 150 participants, including senior government officers, commissioners, secretaries, and officials from various departments, attended the workshop, which focused on harnessing emerging technologies to improve governance and public service delivery.
The sessions highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence, generative AI, drones, sensors, cloud, blockchain, and other new-age technologies to drive governance transformation.
