RONO HILLS, Sep 30: The Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) on Monday organized a "Safai Mitra Suraksha Sivir" as part of the ongoing "Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2024."
The health camp, conducted at the university's health centre, aimed to provide preventive health check-ups and enhance access to healthcare services for safai workers.
The camp offered a variety of services, including general health assessments and blood tests for random blood sugar, hemoglobin, and HBsAg.
The Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Clinic facilitated screenings for diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. Additionally, safai workers received Albendazole tablets for deworming treatment. Health education sessions focusing on nutrition, hygiene, and the prevention and management of diabetes, hypertension, and obesity were also conducted for the participants.
A total of 66 safai workers benefited from the one-day health camp, which was led by chief medical officers Dr Chin Dei Kim and Dr Akin Tana Tara. The medical team also included laboratory technologist Bhim Sonar, senior pharmacist Techi Epo, ANM Leela Rimal, and nursing officer Reena Nabam.
