YAZALI, Dec 10: The Keyi Panyor district unit of Nyishi Elite Society (NES) successfully concluded the fourth phase of its awareness programme on wildlife protection and preservation at a community hall here on Tuesday.
The programme, a collaborative initiative with the district administration, focused on the theme of safeguarding wildlife. It witnessed significant success, highlighted by the surrender of airguns by the youth of Yazali and surrounding villages. This event is part of a decade-long effort to preserve wildlife in the district and the state.
The event saw widespread participation, with prominent figures such as Keyi Panyor NES district chairman T D Neckom, senior citizens, public leaders, intellectuals, and Gaon Burahas from Keyi Panyor.
Keyi Panyor EAC Mumni Borang urged the Gaon Buras to take a leading role in raising awareness about the illegal hunting of wildlife in their respective areas.
