Poshan Pakhwada concludes

PASIGHAT, Apr 22: The Women and Child Development (WCD) department of East Siang district successfully concluded the 7th edition of the Rashtriya Poshan Pakhwada 2025 by organising a district-level recipe competition at the DC Conference Hall here on Tuesday.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from supervisors and Gramsevikas representing the three ICDS projects in the district. The Pasighat ICDS Project bagged the first position, while Ruksin and Mebo projects secured the second and third spots, respectively.

Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Sanjay Taram, who graced the occasion as chief guest, lauded the WCD department for its commitment and efficient execution of the Poshan Pakhwada and other flagship schemes. EAC Yamo Tamut, serving as guest of honour, appreciated the grassroots workers for their tireless service to beneficiaries.

District Reproductive and Child Health Officer (DRCHO) Dr Nydak Angu, in his special address, emphasised the critical role of nutrition in the health of children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.

Highlighting the department’s efforts to combat malnutrition, Nodal Officer for the Poshan Abhiyaan, M Gao, outlined the key activities undertaken during the fortnight-long observance from April 8 to 22.

She praised the CDPOs for successfully executing the initiatives in their respective ICDS blocks.

The theme for this year’s Poshan Pakhwada focused on the first 1,000 days of life, popularisation of the Beneficiary Module in the Poshan Tracker, management of malnutrition through the Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) Module and promoting healthy lifestyles to address childhood obesity.

CDPOs from Pasighat, Mebo, and Ruksin presented highlights of their respective activities during the campaign through PowerPoint presentations.
