JWCAPTU to suspend stir temporarily

ITANAGAR, Jun 20: The Joint Working Committee of Arunachal Pradesh Trade Unions (JWCAPTU) has decided to temporarily suspend its proposed state-wide blackout agitation called on June 21 after Chief Minister Pema Khandu assured all the genuine grievances of the labour community would be addressed soon.

Khandu’s assured the executive members of the JWCAPTU when they met him at his office here on Wednesday.

The chief minister, agreeing that the state’s labour class was being deprived of many facilities despite their contribution to the development of the state, assured that his government will take steps for their uplift.

Khandu directed the JWCAPTU team to conduct a general meeting of the labour community before July 20 where he is likely to announce the grievances put forward by the JWCAPTU.

The JWCAPTU team was led by its chairman Changma Tajo and general secretary Kenkar Yomcha. The secretary to chief minister and public liaison officer attended the meeting.
