Drug peddler with 10gms heroin arrested

PASIGHAT, Jun 30: The East Siang district police arrested one Hiren Bori, and seized 10gms of suspected heroin from his possession.

SP, Sachin Singhal, informed that the arrest of the suspected drug peddler was made in coordination with the mothers of Women Against Social Evils (WASE), an NGO.  

He said that the accused belongs from Dhemaji district, Assam. He said, during the search, the police procured 10gms of suspected heroin from the accused. Accordingly, a case has been registered at Ruksin Police Station vide no Ruksin Police Station Case No: 07/2024 under section 21(B) NDPS Act.

While acknowledging WASE for the cooperation, SP requested the public and well-wishers of the district to share information on drug peddling, drug users without any hesitation.

He said with the support and cooperation from public, police can contain the issue of drug abuse with iron hands in making East Siang a drug free district.
