Tawang hosts Income Tax outreach program

TAWANG, Apr 29: An interactive outreach programme, part of 'NER Converses,' was successfully held at the DC's office here on Tuesday.

Organized by the office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (PCCIT), NER, in coordination with the Tawang district administration, the event witnessed the participation of over 150 stakeholders.

The program, inaugurated by PCCIT Chaitali Panmei featured various resource persons from the income tax department. They spoke on a range of topics including the Income Tax e-filing portal, TDS compliance, e-verification scheme, grievance redressing month, and income tax exemption provisions for Scheduled Tribes.

In her address, Panmei provided an overview of the country's income tax collection and praised the northeastern states for their contribution.

She particularly lauded Arunachal for its rich resources, beautiful culture, and the law-abiding, peace-loving, and progressive nature of its people.

State IT principal commissioner, N Longvah, highlighted the aims and objectives of the outreach programme.

Tawang ADC Sang Khandu welcomed the officers and officials of the income tax department and expressed gratitude for their efforts in spreading awareness about various provisions and compliance related to the income tax act and proceedings to the people of Tawang.
