AALO, May 07: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), West Siang, convened a meeting regarding the preparedness for monsoon at DC's Conference Hall, near here on Tuesday.
The meeting was chaired by Mabi Taipodia Jini, ADC cum DC (in charge).
She urged all the DDMA members to be proactive during the Monsoon season. She also urged the public of the District to inform of any damages caused by natural calamities during monsoon.
She also requested the public of Aalo Township not to venture near rivers and streams, to keep away from landslide-prone zones, keep sufficient food items, medicines, first Aid kits, etc during the Monsoon.
Dorjee Nima, DDMO, highlighted how to prepare for the upcoming monsoon in 2024. He said that a Monsoon is a seasonal occurrence through the rainy phase or dry phase. This year National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) warned the probability of occurrence of heat wave.
He urged all the line departments to get prepared to mitigate any eventuality during monsoon.
The DDMA also requested the public of West Siang to inform any incident to the agency.
The agency issued emergency numbers for Aalo Township and also identified government higher secondary school ground as safe location in case of natural calamities.
Health department, Power, PHED, WRD, etc is ready to mitigate any eventuality as informed by Concern HoD's.

Among others, the meeting was attended by officers from ITBP, all the DDMA members of West Siang district.
