YACHULI, May 05: A five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on entrepreneurship concluded at the government college here on Saturday.

Organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) of Yachuli Government College (YGC) under the project titled "Establish, Develop and Manage Entrepreneurship Development Centres (EDCs) and Incubation Centres (ICs) in the Educational Institutions of the Northeastern Region," the programme was sponsored by the North Eastern Council (NEC) Shillong and implemented by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Guwahati.

The FDP was coordinated YGC assistant professor Dr Teli Momu who also serves as the district coordinator of EDC for Lower Subansiri and Keyi Panyor districts.

Among other EDC committee members, including assistant professor Nada Pugang, Dr Ngawang Drema Trangpoder, Nabam Tabang, Tara Dajam, and Yadi Nani, the FDP was attended by YGC principal Dr Rejir Karlo and Naara-Aaba Winery Private Limited managing director Tage Rita Takhe, Cooperative Society Naharlagun deputy director Dr Gyati Kobing and Joram Ania, progressive farmer from Kangam Organic Farm, Yazali.

Resource persons from various departments, faculty members from different colleges of the state, and members from KVIC, DIC, ITI, CS, and NGOs also took part in the programme.

Speaking on the concluding day, Dr Karlo highlighted that the FDP aimed to train and develop professionals in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, and incubation.

“These professionals can then act as resource persons, guiding and motivating entrepreneurs, farmers, unemployed youth, and students of the district to pursue entrepreneurial careers. The FDP is expected to provide essential tools and techniques through diverse hands-on training modules, enhancing the practicing skills of faculty members and teachers,” he said.

They can then apply these skills to link classroom teaching and motivate entrepreneurs, farmers, unemployed youth, and students towards entrepreneurial careers, Dr Karlo added.
