Multiple candidates across constituencies submit nomination papers

ZIRO, Mar 27: Eight candidates submitted their nomination papers for the 16-Yachuli and 17-Ziro-Hapoli Assembly Constituencies on Wednesday.

Returning Officers Vivek H P and Himani Meena informed the media that for the 16th Yachuli Assembly constituency, Taba Tedir from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Toko Tatung from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and independent candidates Toko Takam and Toko Chada submitted their papers.

Meanwhile, for the 17th Ziro-Hapoli Assembly constituency, Hage Appa from the BJP, Tapi Mali from the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA), and independent candidates Hage Nama and Hage Kobing also filed nominations.

The ROs stated that scrutiny of the nomination papers would take place tomorrow between 11 am and 3 pm, including a discussion on the possible recall of the PPA party ticket to Mali.

Vivek, who is also the district election officer for Lower Subansiri and Keyi Panyor districts, noted that a total of 1334 or 55% of arms deposits have been made in the two districts so far. He urged all license holders to deposit their arms at the nearest police stations to avoid license cancellation and announced that the time limit for arms deposit will be extended for a few more days.

At Khonsa: The 56-Khonsa West (ST) Assembly Constituency in Tirap district witnessed six candidates file their nominations papers on Wednesday.

While Yang Sen Matey filed his nomination as an NCP candidate, sitting MLA Chakat Aboh filed her candidacy from the BJP.

Tangse Tekwa from the Indian National Congress and Gawang Hakhun from the People’s Party PPA also filed their nomination papers along with independent candidates Azet Homtok and Langwang Sumpa.

At Pasighat: The 37-Pasighat West and 38-Pasighat East Assembly Constituencies in East Siang district saw eight candidates submit their nomination papers to the respective returning officers.

The 37-Pasighat West seat saw sitting MLA Niniong Ering file his candidacy from the BJP while Tapyam Pada filed his nomination as an NCP candidate.

Kalen Taying filed the nomination from the Arunachal Democratic Party (ADP) whereas Aruni Jamoh and Taka Muang are looking to contest the polls as independent candidates.

Meanwhile, the 38-Pasighat East Assembly Constituency saw incumbent legislator Kaling Moyong file his nomination as a BJP candidate with Tapi Darang and Okom Yosung submitting their papers as candidates of the National People’s Party (NPP) and INC respectively.

At Seppa: The Bameng (ST) Assembly Constituency in East Kameng district witnessed former home minister Kumar Waii and newcomer Doba Lamino file their nomination papers from the INC and BJP respectively.

Similarly sitting MLA Hayeng Mangfi filed his candidacy for the upcoming assembly poll as a BJP candidate for the Chayangtajo Assembly seat while Kampu Dolo submitted his papers on behalf of the INC.

As many as 4 candidates filed their nomination papers for the Seppa East and West Assembly seats.

The Seppa East Assembly Constituency saw Ealing Tallang and Tame Gyadi file nominations as BJP and INC candidates respectively while the Seppa East Assembly Constituency is set to witness a fight between BJP’s Mama Natung and Tani Loffa from the NPP after the documents are scrutinised on Thursday.
