Basar gears up for elections

BASAR, Apr 15: The final phase of training for presiding officers and first polling officers for Basar assembly constituency was conducted at Town Club here on Sunday.

District level master trainers, Dr Kirto Loyi (training management) and J Bandhyopadhyay (EVM management) imparted the training.

They give insights on the standing instructions, SOPs, and other activities to be exercised by the polling team to ensure error free execution of duties during the polling day.

Additionally, a hands-on training on EVM management like conducting mock poll, sealing of EVMs, change of faulty EVMs, adding address tag, etc., were also demonstrated to the trainees.

IT nodal officer Mikba Boje imparted basic training on installation and setting of web camera equipment at the identified polling stations by the designated polling team for webcasting on the polling day.

Earlier, Leparada district election officer Atul Tayeng urged the trainees to perform their assigned duties with commitment and devotion and follow all SOPs in toto.

Basar assembly constituency returning officer Ejum Angu, Leparada deputy DEO Mary N Taloh also spoke.
