LIKABALI, Apr 17: In a concerted effort to ensure smooth polling operations, teams for Hipo and Dibe polling stations were dispatched today from the district election office in Likabali. The teams were flagged off by general bbserver Dilip Routrai and district election officer Rujjum Rakshap, alongside returning officers and other administrative officials.

The ceremony was marked by encouragement and guidance from Routrai and Rakshap, who emphasized the importance of diligence and integrity in conducting the upcoming elections in these remote locations.

Hipo Polling Station, located 145 km from the district office, is one of the most isolated in Lower Siang District, with only 47 registered voters. The road to Hipo extends for 136 km, underscoring the logistical challenges faced by election teams. Similarly, Dibe Polling Station, catering to 39 voters, is 109 km from Likabali, with road access available up to 94 km.

Efforts have been made to ensure that polling teams reach their respective stations at least a day before the elections to set up and prepare for the voting process.
