AAPSU welcomes slew of bills

ITANAGAR, Mar 16: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has appreciated the State government for a slew of bills passed during the Budget session of the Assembly.

The students’ body was specially effusive about the Criminal Laws (Arunachal Pradesh) Amendment Bill towards curbing crimes against women and children, the Arunachal Pradesh Land Settlement and Records Amendment Bill, 2018 for conferring ownership rights to the indigenous people including communities and clans possessing Land Possession Certificates in the state.

The AAPSU also welcomed the Money Lending (Regulation) Bill 2018 to contain unregulated money lending prevalent in the state that often made people vulnerable at the hands of money lenders.

In the wake of crime against women, the AAPSU said that the Bill to protect the dignity of women was the need of the hour. The union also appeald to the state government to seek public opinion regarding the drafting of clauses in the bills for more inclusive and accommodate insightful suggestions.
