TRIHMS dialysis unit inaugurated

NAHARLAGUN, Apr 12: Health and Family Welfare Commissioner KalingTayeng on Thursday inaugurated the dialysis unit under PradhanMantri National Dialysis Programme, a free service for the poor, at TomoRiba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) here.

DrTapasyaRaghav, Special Secretary cum Mission Director of National Health Mission and other officials such as DFW, DME, DHS, Joint DHS (P&D), CMS and doctors and nurses of TRIHMS were present on the occasion.

During the launch, SNO (NCD), Dr L Jampa highlighted the objectives of the PMNDP. He said that the State has received five of the 15 assured dialysis equipmentswdonated by Fairfax India Charitable Foundation in partnership with the Centre.

The programme is designed to be implemented in PPP-mode in collaboration with Kolkata-based service provider EskagSanjeevani Pvt. Ltd. The State government had signed a MoU with the company for five years for free service to be provided by the government to the patients needing dialysis for their kidney ailments.
